Power of words.

Words are powerful! Use them wisely.

Words are the most powerful weapon every human has. Sometimes in situations of anger we say what we should not say. The person in front of you gets angry or sometimes leaves without saying anything. This means your words had made the person feel bad about his/her inabilities or failures. Many times we feel we shouldn’t have said that but becomes too late for taking our words back. Think before you speak because your words can end someone’s happiness.

In this case unexpectedly we start feeling guilty and this guilt makes us hallow from inside. It doesn’t matter who the person is we feel guilty about what had really happened. This is power of words. Many might think why to feel guilty for a group of words but I have seen some examples around me in which people change their entire life just for one word. At end of the day you cannot decide by what words one may get offended. It means while we are living in this society we should think about everything before saying or doing it.

Style of speaking is an important part of personality. When we talk, professionality, smartness should reflect in our words at the same time the words should be easy to understand.

Example, a word of five alphabets ‘sorry,’ can resolve many conflicts; then why shouldn’t we use it? Just because it may hurt our ego? Two word of five and three alphabets respectively ‘Thank You’ can make your impression good and respectable, then why not to use it? Many times even if it’s not our mistake we need to apologize for it, if the conflict is small one then why can’t we say sorry? Saying this word will save your energy and time which you may have used to prove yourself right.

I am not saying that you should always apologize even if its not your mistake. When there are small conflicts between siblings for T.V. remote or for chocolate, candies then you should save your energy for work or studies instead of fighting by your side because even if you prove yourself right as a award you are going to get T.V. to watch for sometime or few candies. If there are larger conflicts which may affect your impression in other’s sight then definitely you should try to prove truth by your side if you really are. If its your mistake a word of five letter won’t affect your personality.

When we think that others should do something but we forget the fact that we are just humans and the being who can’t control others. So while speaking think about the word and think whether it is appropriate in your conversation take 10 seconds or more time to think about it especially if you are talking with boss or with your colleagues. It may take time but its better. Gradually you will start controlling your mind with this trick and will have hold over your words. If someone says something to you which indirectly hurts you, just forgive that person. Many times it is tough but if you make conflicts it would make your impression bad.

This is the power of words limited up to conversations only? What if we talk about literature?

Poems, proverbs, thoughts, sayings are pieces of literature which indeed tell us more then the words they consist. Poems in Sanskrit language known as ‘shlokas,’ give us knowledge about many things in practical life. These shlokas are just of 4 lines but they give important lessons of living life. Proverbs and sayings are almost same but proverbs are found in written format where as saying as considered oral sources. These proverbs and saying reveals a lot about experiences of people.

You may have heard ‘Rome was not built in a day,’ construction of Rome began in late 8th century BCE which is even popular today. This proverb is said even today because someone must have experienced great things need time to happen, once they happen they become blockbusters. It means all words have great meaning behind them and when they come together meaningfully, they form facts and life lessons.

Concludingly, words have great power. We can’t imagine our life without words. But many times we misuse power of words by demotivating others, saying without thinking; we should try to avoid it and apologize if ever we do it.
